The seven sacraments are the channels of God’s grace, accompanying us through every stage of life’s journey.
The Hispanic Ministry serves the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Spanish-speaking Catholic community by providing a wide range of services and sacramental support in Spanish. The ministry functions as a vibrant pastoral community, ensuring that members have access to the Church’s sacramental life, including preparation for and celebration of Baptism, Marriage, and other liturgical celebrations. Pastoral care also extends to visits to the sick and homebound, while funeral ministry is offered as needed, recognizing that many families choose to have their loved ones buried in their country of origin.
Throughout the year, the ministry nurtures the faith of the community through regular liturgies, catechesis, annual Advent and Lenten retreats, novenas, and other opportunities for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
The ministry serves Spanish-speaking Catholic communities across the Diocese of St. John’s–Basseterre, reflecting the multicultural nature of the local Church. As one of the largest immigrant communities within the diocese, Hispanic Catholics enrich parish life through their active participation in liturgical celebrations, parish ministries, and diocesan events. The ministry also seeks to foster a welcoming environment that supports both the spiritual and practical needs of individuals and families while encouraging their full integration into the life and mission of the Church.
