Music & Choir

Music is a vital part of the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and is a powerful symbol of unity among our parish family.  As ministers, we share the faith and serve the community, expressing the love of God and neighbors through music.  

As we celebrate the Sunday mass, we encourage and promote active participation by means of acclamations, responses, psalmody, antiphons, and songs. Music deepens and intensifies our experience of liturgical prayer.  We experience spiritual growth and commitment to our faith.  St. Augustine said it best when he declared, “He who sings prays twice’’ and “Singing is for the one who loves”. Music is not just a sign of unity, it is a sign of God’s love for us and of our love for Him.  

How You can Become Involved

Adult Choir: This is the main choir which provides musical leadership during the 9:00 am Sunday Masses and special celebrations throughout the year. 

For persons attending the 6:00 pm mass on Saturday evenings, there is also an opportunity to be a part of this ensemble. 

We invite singers who can sing pleasantly and in tune.  It is not necessary to have experience singing in a choir or to read music; however, some musical background or able to read music is often very helpful.  Come sing with us!

Youth Choir: The Youth Choir is composed primarily of persons 12 – 35 who provide musical leadership during the 6:00 pm mass on the 2^nd Saturday of each month and 9:00 am mass on the 3rd Sunday. Rehearses are generally held on Saturdays from 3:00 p.m.  Vocalists at all musical level are welcome as well as instrumentalists who are proficient in their instrument.

Additional Volunteer –   Additional Volunteer Pianist/Instrumentalists (strings, brass, woodwinds) for Sunday liturgy, special and seasonal celebrations especially Christmas, Easter, and Confirmation
